Last years event was a HUGE SUCCESS thanks to all who came to support us and our wonderful sponsors. We raised and donated $1,420.00 to the Northern Hills Training Center because all of YOU! The Terry Peak Mountain Festival is a two day event involving the best views and vertical in the Black Hills. 9 am to 4 pm Saturday and Sunday, the Kussy Express will be open to the general public with lift pass for biking, hiking, and sightseeing, and racing. A 1.8 mile intermediate bike trail from summit to base will be open to experience the great views, cooler air, and fun to be had on this fantastic mountain. Activities will include live music, bike racing and food. Families are encouraged to attend and see what Terry Peak has to offer in the summer. Bikers will need to bring their own

All weekend chair pass (two day) with bike: $35
All day chair pass with bike: $25

Race Registration: Pre-registration party at Lewie’s Saloon in just outside of Lead from 7:00pm-8:00pm Friday July 25th. Come hang out and get “primed” for the event! Registration opens Saturday 8:00 am to 11:00 am at the Nevada Gulch Base, Sun 9:00 to 10:00 am at the Nevada Gulch Base of Terry Peak. Registration must be completed before any practice runs. Helmets required for all races, body armor recommended for downhill. Entry fees for races:
Downhill Race (includes chair pass for entire weekend and complimentary entry to cross country race): $50

Little Hope Downhill: Trail designed by a NORBA professional downhill mountain biker. Trail follows fall line between Kussy, Ben Hur and Holy Terror from summit to base. Course is lengthened this year to make the most of the lower section and bypass the gravel road near the bottom. Expect a mix of wide open ski runs, wooded sections, roots, rocks and rolling drops. Fun and challenging to all skill levels. See Course (Red)
Killer Loop Short Track X-Country: New for 2008 is considerably more singletrack this year and some great technical descents. Short track cross country trail will consist of multiple laps around a 2 mile loop with moderate climbs. Class for long travel (downhill) bikes will also be added. Short track race is exciting for spectators and racers alike. See Course (2007) (Green)
Kussy Kids Race: Open to kids 10 and under. Race will be held at the Nevada Gulch Base on Saturday at 11:00 am. Classes to be determined based on the number of participants. Prizes will be awarded to all participants.
Free Mountain Bike Clinic by RMS: Clinic will be provided by bike experts from Rushmore Mountain Sports out of Spearfish. Topics covered will include beginning and intermediate bike techniques, tips and on-trail bike maintenance to make riding easier and more fun. Clinic includes guided trip down intermediate trail on mountain. Clinic is free to chair lift pass holders. Clinic will meet at Nevada Gulch Base 11:30 Saturday. Participants may call Rushmore Mountain Sports at 605.642.2885 to sign-up prior or in person on the day of the event.
